11th Battleship Cove Chess Tournament

The Battleship Cove scholastic chess tournament is for kids grades K-12 and takes place ON THE BATTLESHIP in the ORIENTATION ROOM. Be advised that there are additional fees to get on to the battleship but we do get a discount. See below.
DETAILS:
FORMAT: 4SS, G/30 One USCF rated section and three sections unrated
- Novice – UNRATED
- Age 10 and under section – UNRATED
- Age 14 and under section – UNRATED
- Open Section (USCF RATED) – Students of any age may play (up to grade 12)

Trophies will be awarded to the top three players in each section.
Everyone plays all 4 rounds.
You may play in a higher age group if preferred. 1/2-point bye available in any round, but must notify organizer in advance. Bring chess clock.
Entry Fee: REDUCED ADVANCE ENTRY ONLY $10 REGISTER ONLINE (preferred) or $15 at site. Note: Additional (REDUCED) ticket fee to go on battleship will be as follows:
Free for kids 5 & under; $7 for all kids playing in tmt; $8 for kids not playing in tmt; $12 for adults, & free for military adults in uniform. Entry Fee Scholarships for Tmt available if needed. Southeast New England Chess Association is 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Round 1 starts at 10:00 AM. Others on completion of each round. Pre-registered players should confirm no later than 9:50AM. Novice, age 10 and 14 & Under will finish around 12:30, Open section around 1:30.
From Providence (South): Take I-195 EAST toward Fall River, Exit 5 toward N.Tiverton and follow signs for Battleship Cove: go 0.5 miles, left on Central St. and go straight on Water street and you will see the Battleship. Only 20 minutes from Providence.
From Massachusetts (North): Take I-195 West toward Fall River, Exit 5 – turn right onto Davol St, make u-turn, take right onto Central St. follow straight to Battleship.
