Rhode Island Scholastic Chess League

Each year, SENECA organizes and runs the Rhode Island Scholastic Chess League (RISCL). The RISCL consists of teams from schools in the state of Rhode Island and gives students the opportunity to play chess against other students in the spirit of healthy competition.

The RISCL is broken into three separate leagues: elementary school (grades K-5), middle school (grades 6-8), and high school (grades 9-12).

All of the RISCL rules for the 2023 season can be found here: Rhode Island Scholastic Chess League Rules 2023.

Registration for the 2023 Rhode Island Scholastic Chess League is now closed. The deadline for both registration and payment was December 2, 2022.

Schedules were sent to registered coaches in December 2022. Standings for the 2023 RISCL are regularly sent to coaches via email.
